Skin Care in the New Normal
Wearing PPE face masks has become a part of our routine life. And I want to give some tips on how to take the best care of your skin with this new normal. Masks can cause skin irritation and breakouts if not used properly and here are my tips for preventing any issues
Always use a clean mask. Disposable masks are hard to come by these days and are intended to be one time use only. For this reason, I recommend having 100% cotton face masks that you are able to wash right after use. Have several on hand that you are able to launder regularly, as to always have a fresh clean one ready to go.
*Laundering tip: use unscented detergent and skip the fabric softener and dryer sheets with your masks as synthetic fragrance can cause skin irritations.
Many small businesses are now offering home made face masks. It is a great idea to stock up. If you prefer to make them yourself this is a great pattern to use. Download here >
Wash your face gently before going out with a face mask on, and wash your face gently when you return home. This will keep the pores of your skin clear.
Wear only light moisturizer, and no makeup under your mask. Always apply sunscreen on the areas of your face that will be exposed. And wear a hat please.
